In accordance with Mercy values and the College’s Behavioural Management Policy, unnecessary contact between students and their belongings is to be avoided at all times in order to uphold the dignity, wellbeing and safety of the students and staff at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College.
Unnecessary contact between students and their belongings in a school situation includes the following areas:
- Physical fights or altercations
- Playful pushing or grabbing
- Interfering with other’s property including bags, equipment and other personal items
All students have an obligation to honour and uphold the rights of other students at all times and treat them and their property with care and respect. Breaking the Hands Off policy can result in a range of consequences and may include placing a student outside the College community.
