Youth Ministry is an integral part of our College. It allows students to become actively involved in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith and its community, fostering the personal and spiritual growth of each student. Its main aim is to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
As a whole, there is a focus on 8 areas:
- Prayer and Worship
- Pastoral Care
- Community Life
- Justice and Service
- Leadership Development
These areas are achieved through the many opportunities the school provides for students to be involved in, such as social justice and faith formation events, community service through the Mercy Action Group, immersion experiences, and many more. With 2016 being the Jubilee Year of Mercy our talented students wrote and produced a song, “Blessed and the Merciful.” which is currently being used in the local parishes and schools during Mass. In 2017, year 9 and 10 students attended the Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) in Sydney and next year six of our students will travel to Panama as student pilgrims for World Youth Day giving them the opportunity to express their faith and live out the Gospel in true Mercy spirit.
