Mercy In Action

Sr Leonie Martin invited Year 9 and Year 10 students of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College to form a “Mercy Action Group” in 2003. Fortunately for us, this group has continued to run since its establishment and offers students in Years 7-10 opportunities to live out Mercy values.

‘Mercy Action Group’ also known as MAG for short, is a small group of students belonging to an “Action” group. This is a supportive and practical way of learning about compassion to other people, and also just how easy it is to make a difference to the lives of others, by thinking of them and doing small things for them. ┬áStudents make community connections by visiting the elderly, supporting people in need and raising funds for Mercy Works.

We, the ‘Mercy Action Group’ will strive to make a difference through working together:

  • By lending a hand;
  • By being positive;
  • Having a cheerful persona, and by
  • Creating a friendlier atmosphere through our attitude and actions;
